Santiago is a leading expert in neurophysiology and neuropharmacology, with more than 130 papers published in international medical journals (Scopus H-index=35).
He obtained his MD and Ph.D. at the University of Buenos Aires and then pursued master’s courses in pharmacoepidemiology, clinical pharmacology, and biostatistics at the Universities of Toulouse, Bordeaux, and Paris (France).
Santiago holds several leadership positions, including

His main research interests are Parkinson’s disease, the genetics of neurodegenerative disorders, the effects of air pollution on neurological diseases, clinical epidemiology, and the implementation of Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning algorithms in medicine.
