Prof. Anastasios Koulaouzidis
Professor Anastasios Koulaouzidis, MD, DM, PhD, FEBG, FESGE, is a gastroenterologist and Clinical Professor at the Department of Clinical Research, University of Southern Denmark, and an Affiliate Professor of Gastroenterology at Pomeranian Medical University, Szczecin. His academic work focuses on capsule endoscopy, gastrointestinal endoscopy, artificial intelligence and digital diagnostics, clinical decision support, colorectal cancer screening, health technology assessment, and implementation of emerging technologies into clinical practice. He has extensive experience in international collaborative research, consensus development, peer review, and editorial work, and has contributed to the development and evaluation of AI-enabled diagnostic systems and quality initiatives in gastrointestinal endoscopy. His broader interests include evidence-based decision-making, responsible clinical AI, algorithmic governance, and the translation of technological innovation into safe, patient-centred care.
