Proposing a Special Issue
If you have an idea for a special issue and want to submit it to Membrane Science International, please follow these instructions.
Choosing the scope
The scope of the special issue should be:
- close to your research interests;
- of growing interest within your field;
- within the scope of Membrane Science International; and
- broad enough to attract a reasonable number of submissions while remaining narrow enough to create a special collection of articles.
Proposal for a Special Issue
The proposal should include:
- a brief and descriptive title for your special issue;
- a concise overview of the special issue;
- aims and scope of the special issue;
- a list of ten to fifteen bullet-point topics that you expect to receive submissions on; and
- the names and affiliations of the researchers who are willing to act as Guest Editors.
Editorial Team for the Special Issue
A single Lead Guest Editor and a team of 2-4 Guest Editors lead special issues. The Special Issue Guest Editors are the key factor in the success of a Special Issue. They are responsible for:
- Handling the peer review process of submitted manuscripts
- Making final recommendations on submitted manuscripts
Guest Editors should:
- have a solid publication record within the scope of the proposed topic;
- located in various countries and institutions which allows a wider audience and distribution;
- Willing to publicize the special issue through their networks to attract submissions; and
- have enough time to devote to handling manuscripts throughout the Special Issue.
If any of the nominated Guest Editors do not meet our requirements, we may ask that they be removed and/or replaced.
Your special issue proposal will be evaluated by the journal's Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board. If the proposal is accepted, we will issue a Call for Papers and begin disseminating it to interested researchers.
Please send your proposal to msi@rasayely-journals.com
